The Jezernik's Water Park on Rogla

The Jezernik's water park on Rogla is a 5-station trail in the middle of the forest. The last station is a water park where children meet the grinders and search for the Jera's gold coins.

The Jezernik's Water Park is considered one of the most beautiful experiences Rogla has to offer. It is a guided 5-station tour, which encourages the youngest ones to feel, see, hear and touch nature.

After just a kilometer long trail, across the forest mosses and past the rippling streams, stop at these 5 places:

  • a river pool,
  • a forest bench,
  • forest moss,
  • a spruce hiding place and finally
  • Jezernik's Water Park.

The last stop: the Jezernik's Water Park

On the clearing, the path widens into the Jezernik Water Park. There will the children get to know the mills, pour the still clean water of Pohorje over them and look for the Jera's gold coins. The sieves and pouches of »gold« can be purchased at the Mašinžaga Restaurant. You will sift through the sand and search for the Jera's gold coins. For the hungry adventurous youngsters, the Jezernik Children's Menu is also available at the Mašinžaga Restaurant. A perfect weekend trip or an even better, a family holiday.

Before leaving, read the story about Jezernik

Once there was a dark lake below Rogla, home of the water man Jezernik. Close by lived a farmer Smodivnik with his greedy wife Jera, who kept sending her husband to the lake to cut down the most beautiful spruce trees and sell them. Jezernik, the protector of nature, offered them a pouch of gold coins for the spruces. The greedy Jera kept demanding more and more, and Jezernik refused to support this, so Smodivnik started cutting down again. Jezernik told them to stop, otherwise they would be punished. Jera refused to believe it. A terrible storm started raging. The lake flooded the banks and washed away the house, Smodivnik, Jera and the logs. Jezernik retreated to the underground of the Lovrenc Lakes.

The lesson of the story: Lightheadedness in dealing with nature can have permanent consequences.
