The first part of the trail leads us towards Jamnik Castle (Holenstein), considered one of the greatest historical mysteries of Rogla - Pohorje and a real treat for anyone fascinated by the Middle Ages. Its exact location remains unknown, and it is not even fully confirmed that the castle actually existed. The castle is last mentioned in historical records in 1477.
The path then continues past the Ančka farm and below Golek Hill to Loška Gora, where we climb up to the ruins of Lušperk Castle, hidden in the forest. Today, Lušperk Castle lies almost completely in ruins, while its original appearance remains unclear. However, it is evident that it once was a strongly fortified structure with thick defensive walls, a moat, and a strategic position above the valley.
From there, the route returns towards Zreče and continues through Zlakova to the Church of St. Martin on a hilltop, where views open up towards Brinjeva Gora. A trail sign then guides us to the remains of Freudenberg Castle, believed to have been built around the 12th century, though today only modest ruins remain on a steep ridge. It began to decline as early as the 15th century, but its legacy is still visible in stone remains and the name of the nearby Podgrajšek (in literal translation: Undercastle) farm.
If time and energy allow, you can also continue to the summit of Brinjeva Gora, where a scenic viewpoint awaits with panoramic views over Oplotnica and a charming bench with a heart. The return follows back to Zreče.
