Villa Svitanje is one of those truly mysterious places from another time. Inside the seemingly modern, large house you can find the date of when exactly it was built. Its mighty walls testify to an origin somewhere in the late 1930s.
It was built under the tutelage of the wealthy Pikl family, from Vitanje, during World War II. Because of its German roots, the place was abandoned and re-settled after the war. But this is not the whole truth …
Interestingly, the Pikl family named the beautiful building as a villa, but they never lived in it. It was, however, a place for them to rest in the afternoon or occasionally get a good night's sleep. Next to the villa stood another house where they did live, and next to that was a barn and a wood shop.
