The Church of St. Martin above Zreče supposedly began to be bulit in the 14th century. Its builders were the mysterious monks of the Žiče Charterhouse. The church is also the northern landmark of the Škalce Wine-Growing Region, slightly higher than the Kropf Cellar, where the Carthusian Wine Cellar later stood.

Did you know? Marked with the Martin's sign!

The Church of St. Martin is the 5th cultural monument in Slovenia, which bears the Martin's sign. Martin's sign is a unique symbol for the European cultural path together with the direction stone - much like the Jacob's shell is a symbol of the Camino. The monuments related to the Martin's heritage are marked with it.

Martin's path belongs to the paths with a central theme of historical and legendary European celebrities. Zreče is also a part of it.
