The Koprivnica Stream

The Koprivnica Stream is one of the livlier tributaries of the Dravinja River, which also fills up the Lake Zreče.

The Koprivnica Stream which lively flows across the upper, hillier part of the Dravinja Valley, on the right side of the Dravinja River, later joins it on the way to the sea. On its journey through the countryside and Zreče, it has captured quite a few compelling stories.

3 interesting facts about the Koprivnica Stream:

  • In the past the Koprivnica Stream contained much more water than it does today, making it an excellent place to set up mills. One of them was Kovšet's or Kropej's mill.
  • The rich water content also contributed to the fish farming, but during the dry summers, Koprivnica used to dry up, so the fishermen from Zreče stopped using it for growing young fish.
  • The Koprivnica Stream represents a pleasant relaxation spot near the Terme Zreče Spa; the Lake Zreče, planted in the green valley.
