A valuable monument of the cultural heritage, the Church of St. Nicholas from the first half of the 14th century is a splendid Pohorje church in Koritno above the town of Oplotnica.

Its interior design deserves a special attention:

  • a fresco the Gift of the Holy Three Kings,
  • a wooden pulpit and
  • the famous painting of Oljska gora in 1495, one of the most important preserved painted boards of the late Gothic period.

The Church of St. Nicholas and interesting facts about it:

  • The floor in the church was not paved until 1914. Before that it was made of compact earth.
  • The south exterior of the nave hides a fresco of St. Christopher, which is almost invisible today. It provided comfort to the people, since whoever looked at it piously in the morning did not die on that day of unfortunate death.
