The Parish Church of St. Lawrence has been standing erect ever since it was first mentioned in 1306 in the small village of Stranice, just a few minutes' drive from Zreče. Lawrence, whose name it bears, was a deacon and martyr from the 3rd century.

The church has a late Gothic appearance. Initially, its nave was covered by a flat wooden ceiling. Sometime in the 17th century a stronger bell tower was erected, and the church was lengthened, arched and a presbytery was built.

The dimensions of the Parish Church of St. Lawrence:

• on the inside It is just over 33 meters long;
• its nave is over 6 meters wide;
• the presbytery measures 5 meters;
• both chapels are more than 15 meters long.

3 interesting facts about the church in Stranice:

• The interior of the church was painted with murals by the academic painter Elda Piščanec from Nova Cerkev. The frescoes were created in 1940, some of them were renovated in 1994 by Milan Lamovec - Didi the painter from Konjice.
• The first organ reigned in the church already in 1692.
• In the recent years the church has undergone some changes. It was given a new facade, covered with slate, and 6 Roman milestones were built into its parish.
