The Beškovnik's Granary is a part of an ancient idyllic homestead in the most hidden part of the Rogla ‒ Pohorje tourist destination, in the Šentvid hamlet, on a hillside approximately 7 km away from Vitanje. There it seems that the time stopped since it easily brings us back to the countryside of the early 19th century.

A homestead in a completely original state

According to the tradition the old homestead consisted of:

  • a plastered wooden house,
  • a house for enjoyment,
  • an outbuilding and
  • a wooden granary, covered with shingles and standing on a stone-built cellar.

Do not overlook!

The Beškovnik's Granary is at the same time a museum of ancient objects that bring to life the memory of handicraft tools for:

  • sowing grain,
  • baking bread,
  • utility tools,
  • craftsmen and
  • sorting of ant eggs.

An opportunity for a family trip

Enjoy the simple peace of the countryside with your loved ones. Hiking should be added to the trip. We recommend a circular trail from Vitanje via Sveti Vid and back, with the picturesque Church of St. Vid. Nearby is a Roman cemetery and a chapel below. It would be difficult to combine better a healthy measure of movement with learning in nature.
