POTTERY & PAINTING WEEKEND AT ŽIČKA KARTUZIJA
From 28 to 30 August 2026, join us for a creative weekend at Žička kartuzija, where, under the guidance of Rok Komel, you will discover the traditional craft of pottery while expressing your creativity through painting.
During this three-day workshop, you will learn the basics of wheel throwing, create both functional and decorative ceramic pieces by hand, and paint artworks inspired by the unique atmosphere of Žička kartuzija. The programme is suitable for everyone, regardless of previous experience in pottery or painting. Participants will take their paintings home at the end of the workshop, while ceramic pieces will be fired and available for collection by prior arrangement.
The workshop will be led by Rok Komel, a history professor, ethnologist, and potter at Žička kartuzija, who is dedicated to preserving Slovenia's rich pottery tradition.
The participation fee is €230 and includes two nights' accommodation, all meals, expert tuition, all workshop materials, and admission to Žička kartuzija with an audio-guided tour. Accommodation will be provided at Špitalič Primary School.
