The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, 9 July at 6 p.m. at the Žička Kartuzija Monastery. The musical programme will be provided by Neli Petek (flute) and Nemanja Đoković (clarinet).
The exhibition IMPRINTS OF SILENCE: the intertwining of two worlds is a project by the Kreativnice collective, combining a shared textile artwork with four individual artistic projects by four artists. At its centre is a textile book of the same title, created as a collective work by all authors. The book is not only a carrier of content, but a shared space of thinking and creation, where textile techniques, research, and individual artistic poetics intertwine. It is understood as a symbol of knowledge, memory, and the spiritual heritage of Žička Kartuzija Monastery, as well as a contemporary dialogue with its manuscript tradition.
Each artist contributes a chapter that is not read separately but as part of a collective process. From this emerge four individual projects located across different sites of the monastery: Herbae Medicinales Aeternae – Lili Panjtar, Monks – Silva Horvat, Quilt of Life 06, Quilt for a Carthusian Monk – Nina Vastl Štefe, and Emerging Imprints of Time – Anja Musek.
The works originate from the same starting point but unfold into individual interpretations of space, nature, and Carthusian heritage. They are connected by the relationship between humans, nature, knowledge, and silence, which is translated into a contemporary material and sensorial artistic language.
The project is the result of collaboration between the Kreativnice collective, the Sora Development Agency / Škofja Loka Crafts Centre, TIC Slovenske Konjice, CDUO, the Craft Cooperative of Slovenska Bistrica, and the ZVKDS OE Celje.
