Wiyaala comes from Funsi in Ghana and is one of the most prominent contemporary African musicians. Her music blends traditional West African influences with modern afro-pop. In 2014, she became the first Ghanaian female artist to release songs in the Sissala language. In 2019, she began her European tour in Ljubljana, where she collaborated with Slovenian musicians, later forming the YagaYaga project with them. Together, they created the band Wiyaala and YagaYaga Band, which is based on Afro-American fusion music and adds new dimensions to her artistic expression.
