You are warmly invited to the Calligraphy Festival, which for more than two decades has been opening its doors to young creators, helping them develop their skills, imagination, and sense of aesthetics through the art of beautiful writing.
This year, the festival is once again part of the European Heritage Days and the Week of Cultural Heritage 2025 (September 27 – October 11), held under the theme “Walls of Our Past, Foundation of Our Future.”
The theme of this year’s festival is “Žička kartuzija Monastery – 860 Years.” In 2025, this exceptional cultural monument celebrates an important anniversary – 860 years since the Carthusians arrived in the Valley of St. John the Baptist near Slovenske Konjice. Their silence, dedication to prayer, work, and books, as well as the rich legacy of the Žiče manuscripts, continue to inspire us today.
The closing event, featuring the presentation of awards and prizes, along with a delightful cultural programme, will take place at the Žička kartuzija Monastery on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 4 p.m.
